lsd price's and option's

one option the original owner didn't get in my truck was the lsd rear.seem's like a stupid move to me.i should have done my homework on this and not assumed.
i would like to swap another rear into it.i just have a few question's before calling around and searching for one.
what would be the going rate on a used full rear axle(d70)? i don't see a for sale section here to referance, like alot of car forum's i frequent.my truck has a 355 gear in it and i would like to stick with it.

will my rear disc part's swap onto a drum brake axle?i figure it would be harder to find a disc brake lsd rear used.

i really need to get going on this.it's not even just the snow, the truck losses traction in the rain also.it's hard to take a left turn in the wet weather from a complete stop, never mind the crosswalk line's.i'd just like to make sure my 8ft box is out of on comming traffic's way

Why do you want to swap the entire rear end? Get a Powr-Lok and have a good shop install it--it's better than the stock limited slip and you won't have to worry about swapping the rear disk brake parts.

I want to say that it's Dana, but I might be wrong. I got mine for my last truck at a local 4x4 shop and had them install it, but if you want to order it, you might try Quad4x4.

dropping my truck off at a shop, sounds like it could turn out to be very expensive.might turn in to a $1000 project, after everything is said and done.i'm pretty handy with tool's and usually don't trust people,i don't know work on my stuff.another reason swapping the full rear end would be a better bet for me.
popping the carrier in and out under the truck doesn't sound like fun.the size of it would make it a pain in the butt,i imagine.
i'll start calling junkyard's soon.i just need to find out, about swapping the caliper bracket's for all the drum brake part's.

I've got the lsd rear on my truck. It has marginal usefullness. When I'm in conditions where I'd figure an LSD would help, I just put it into 4 wheel drive.

with an open diff and a truck that make's close to 500 ft lbs of torque, there's no traction in the rain.i've got stuck in the grass with a very small incline and had to put it in 4 high.it's just plain embarasing
