Loud Turbo on spool up

when it starts to build boost, it is like a light switch, the sound goes from pass to drivers side and sounds like a shop vac w/ a whistle.

A bud with same mods rode with me and said WTH. This. not my 1st diesel but i did siliencer ring and intake at the same time so i thought it was the ring which is a first 4 me

Some side play, the fins are dusted @ 220k and tryed to pressure test the system and applying pressure through air intake its comming out the back side of the turbo intake housing between the alum and steel. boots pipes look tight

Q's
My driverside noise?
how bad?
how long do i got?

Probably have a bad boot on the piping that opens up under pressure.

it could be. the sound may just be echoing. you definitly need a new turbo tho. put one in and see if it helps. if it does, problem solved.

Don't know what loud is, your describing. My 2000 3500 was loud when the snorkle came loose between the filter box and the wheel well. Really loud with a K&N in the box and the snorkle removed.
