I still think the Cummins is the best engine, but I wish I had no luck.....

70,000 cracked #53 warranty repair with #55 block
241,000 seized number one cylinder due to new thermostat came apart. Cummins update at fault. Pulled, bored, bearings, etc.
241,900 seized number one cylinder my fault, did not check new thermostat. Installed new long block.
246,000 head gasket leaking compression.
258,000 second cracked #53, got taken, numbers ground off new long block. Installed present engine ISB275 with 5000 miles on it.
320,000 head gasket leaking right front. Older head gaskets do not hold.
358,000 current problem, Installed different injectors, Installed different head, still knocks, is piston pin on number 3.

Now the real delimma, fix it and put it together and shortly pull the engine because the cooling jet is either gone or plugged. No way to check it. Fix it or complete rebuild to install new jets.

In all due justice, this is the first Cummins downfall that is not accounted for by outside reasons or the 53 blocks.
