Long Trip Preperation

Hi, Im new to this board but I was wondering what all of you would suggest. I am getting ready to move from louisiana to washington state (2700 miles) and was wondering what kind of prep should I do to my truck to get it ready to go on the long haul. I will be pulling a 24ft enclosed car hauler weighing about 10,000lbs . My truck is a 99 2500 4x4 quad cab shortbed with the auto. Thanks in advance for all of you opinions. Jason

* If you haven't done a recent change on ALL of your fluids and filters, that should be first.

* Tires....belts....hoses....bearing leaks?

* Tranny fluids....filter....adjust? 10K lbs on your auto will be pushing it a little unless you take your time and don't strain it.

* If you don't have gages, have your lift pump checked to be sure you have good fuel pressure.

Your truck is built for heavy work. Keep it serviced and inspect regularly and you shouldn't have problems.

Uh....it is a diesel....right?

I would still have the LP checked. The replacements are sometimes known not to last very long.
