Little puff on startup....This ok?

Seems like lastweek i noticed a puff when she starts cold or hot.....Not much just enough to see........

I was thinkin the Comp box had something to do with this, but i dont know if thats correct....

I keep the box on level 2 x 5 all the time....Never have run higher yet.....

Should i be worried about this?

That is normal. Will vary depending on ambient temperature, and how long engine has been sitting.

Mine puts out a little puff of grey smoke right at startup. It's just the unburned fuel in the cylinders preceeding the first one that fires. I'd consider it normal.

Temperature does strange things to Diesels.

It's probably a little warmer now then when you bought it

You'll see all kinds of changes as the seasons progress.

Just wait till mid winter when you do the white eye burning smoke fogging the neighbors.
(or filling up the garage if you have one)

Yeah, it sounds normal. Just wait till you get some cheaper diesel. I know that mobil diesel seems to smoke more then amaco. It also has a different smell, I think it is because of the different sulfur content.

yeah, us dummy students ( my class) we all decided we wanted ours to smoke during class so when we rebuilt the engines we left a lil excess in the cycliners

yeah it didnt smoke. just shot fuel up into the air through the stack. made a hell of a mess.

It all comes out of the same pipeline, no matter what brand name.
