Lack of acceleration

???I have a '99 Ram 2500 diesel with a 5 speed. It has about 85k miles on it.
When the weather is hot, 85 up, the truck runs okay, but seems to accelerate a little slow. When it cools off to about 70 or so, it seems to accelerate much better. Could this be some kind of sensor problem?

Re:Lack of acceleration

Since it seems to be temp sensitive, it may be the Intake Air Temp sensor. They are from $18 to $30 at the dealer (depending on what he will do for you). Before you buy one, pull your old one out and clean it with brake cleaner.
A deep socket 13/16 spark plug socket will get it out for you.
Make sure when you are finished cleaning, that the blue "bulb" is not touching the brass case. Also, make sure the sensor is snug (not TIGHT) or you will lose boost pressure through the o-ring. Finally, since acceleration is down, tighten the boost hose clamps from the turbo to the intake. Make sure the fuel and air filters are clean.

Find Number 7 on the following link diagram:

http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/mt_...l_sys_comp.htm
