Instant large oil leak.

I seem to have devoloped a larger engine oil leak quite suddenly. It appears to be comming out at the point that the power steering pump bolts to the engine on the 2000 2500 with the auto trans. How bad of a job is this to fix? I have heard a couple guys in the repair business tell me it is a real pain on the Cummims. Your thoughts? Thanks

Check and see if the leak is between the vacuum pump and power steering pump. If so you can repair it with kit # 4089742 from Cummins. Double check when you call them on the part #. As for the repair it's not too bad I've done 2 of them now. Once by myself and once with help. If you have a friend, doing it with help is a lot better.
You can use these instructions. Click here

I did a vacuum pump fix on my truck and the seal did work good. I lost a gallon on oil in 40 miles. It was a real big leak. It was not a bad repair job, just couldn't get it to seal. I would look at the vacuum pump first.
