Installing Airtek for a friend

He has an 01 3500 with the stock Carter on it and it is starting to leak around the pump so he wants to install the new airtek on it. I have heard that you need about 3 feet of diesel grade fuel line, what size of line 3/8, 1/2" etc? Also, he still has the banjo fittings on it, he has the big line kit from filter to VP but do I need to change the fitting going from pump to filter housing? If so, can I get a good fitting from auto parts store and if so what size thread on the fitting and what size of hose end for that (I assume same as going into the pump). Where does the 3 feet of new hose tie into on the original system when installing the Airteck? Sorry so many questions but want to do this tomorrow after work and get it done in decent time.

Thanks.

It depends on where you are putting the pump.

I carry 12mm adapters to aid in the pump install. As far as the hose, it is used behind the pump. The factory hose is sealed onto a steel line under the drivers side cab front. I cut this plastic tubing off and simply slide the hose on and double clamp.

You want to use 3/8" hose.

Thanks, are the 12mm adapters in place of the banjo fitting on the pump outlet side? I was looking at the fuel line on my truck, do you just cut the plastic end of the hose off and use clamps, or do you go all the way back to the steel line and install the new hose?

If it's in the stock location, you won't need anything. If you are relocating pump you'll need adapters. Unless you already have a relocation kit.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info.
