Yup, Asphalt and Diesel don't mix.

That's why just about every gas station has concrete pads around the pumps.

Yeah it funny but most people don't make the connection that diesel fuel and asphalt are made from the same matterial....

CRUDE OIL - Just refine to different stages...

In my owners manual it does say something about spilling diesel and asphalt...

I forgot to lower the water drain and pumped a bunch of fuel. Funny thing was the pump kept pumping after I turned off the key.

i was told the lift pump is supposed to pump 48 t0 52 oz. of fule before it shuts off if you take off the fuel line and take some sort of container and mark off 16 or 20 increments like from a coke bottle and also can take off the cover to the starter relay and bump the starter from under the hood w/ key on so that way you can do that by yourself

My method is what I have been using since the ISB came out in 98, just put filter and cap back on and then bump the starter and use a rag around the banjo fitting on the inlet of the VP44 pump and with a 17mm wrench break the banjo fitting loose until you get fuel and tighten, very little fuel and clean , works everytime

I'm aware of asphalts components. I just didn't think a cup or so of diesel wold start to return my driveway to its origins. Good news though. Placing a piece of plywood over the soft spot, I used to Dodge as a make-shift roller packing it down hard. Then I left it alone to bake in the sun. It's finally starting to harden up.
