How Long Does Your Lift Pump......

How long does your lift pump run when you trun the key? mine used to cycle as long as the wait to start light was on (about 5 secs.), but I got the TSB for the TC Lockup done & now it only runs about 1-2 secs. it hardly seems to be able to have enough time to pull fuel up, but I was wondering how long yours runs for?
the other think is the wait to start light still stays on for about 5 secs. but the lift pump is stopped running so I think the light is programed for the lift pump run time. is that correct?

DRecu!

Dracu I don't have a actual figures for you but my pump shuts off much sooner than the wait to start light. Always has.

Mine runs 1-1.5 seconds when I turn the key on. It is really just bump fuel into the injection pump. If I bump the starter without starting the pump will run about 15 seconds.

I'd think that if it ran over 2 secs, you may either have a leak somewhere causing you to lose pressure, or your lift pump is dying. I just got mine replaced about 200 miles ago and already it has dropped 1psi. >

Less than a second. Its the original one with 85K on it. One time when I changed my filter a couple years ago, I did not get it full of fuel or had a small air leak into the system as it cooled down. The pump would run for about 2 seconds. Took it apart, filled it. No problems since.

Time is not on my side!!

Dave
