How hard to replace Clutch in 2wd?

I need to replace the clutch this weekend. How hard and what tools are a necessity? I have replaced a couple clutches in cars before but nothing as heavy as this. Can you balance on a floor jack or should I rent a transmission jack? Any help would be appreciated.

I rented a floor jack and a porta power. Porta power to spread the frame rails to remove the cross member.

Thanks for the replies. Hey 98.5Hotrod, does the shifter come off as a unit or do you have to have a special tool to remove the thing?

Its fairly easy when compared to a 4wd.
Jack as high as possilbe, secure with stands. Remove drive shaft.
Support transmission, remove cross member. may need porta power or bottlejack and 4x4 block to spread frame.
Unbolt hydraulics, unbolt speedsensor, etc. Unbolt transmission. Pull back and lower to ground. Rent a trans jack. makes it much easier.
Install clutch, Install is reverse.
Let us know if you have questions.

I didn't have to spread the frame on mine. I lifted the tranny up, then slid the crossmember to the rear, and it dropped right out.

Thanks roughstock. It seems a fairly straightforward job. I was reading a Haynes manual and some info from the net and it looks like I have an NV4500 trans and the stickshift looks to be a pain in the a to remove. On some trans(like a NV3500) it looks like they unbolt it and comes right out. This one looks like it takes a special tool to spread apart and unlatch. Anyone have any experience with this? Where's the best place to rent a trans jack? We have Autozones, pep boys and advance autos fairly close. Thanks guys.
