hesitation only under light/constant acceleration
hesitation only under light/constant acceleration
gentleman,
I have a 2001 Dodge HO with about 115K miles on it. The only mods is an Edge EZ, 4 inch exhaust, and 275 injectors.
The problem I am having is a hesitation under constant or light throttle in all gears and speeds. Giving it some extra pedal, it runs perfectly. It also idles perfectly. I am possibly thinking I might have an injection slightly clogged? I have been googling this problem and have found folks with somewhat similar problems but could not seem to find a solution that has worked yet.
So far this is what I have done and verified without no changes.
1. removed the Edge EZ
2. changed fuel filter
3. fuel pressure gauge states that I am good (12psi)
4. no engine codes
any suggestions to try? The only thing I can think of next is pulling the injectors and soaking the ends in a solvent.

This happened to me with a brand new set of 75hp injectors from DDP. I ended up buying a second set so I could drive the truck (stockers were shot) and sent the first set back for warranty.
Turns out the injectors came back to me with brand new nozzles installed by DDP. (They had less than 1000kms or 600 miles on them) With the new second set of injectors, I never had the problem.

I have a Dodge 2002 1 ton 5.9 24 valve turbo 6 speed manual.
After 50 miles or more, pulling a load or not, but worse when pulling a load. I have no throttle response after deceleration. I have to down shift, get the RPMs up and it goes again. Every time I let off the throttle it starts over, throttle to the floor and no response.
I think I have a good mechanic, but the only fix is to remove the Edge.
Sent back to the manufacturer for testing. After finding nothing wrong and updating the program, it did the same thing again. Doesn't matter what the setting, the only fix is to remove.
Am I missing something? Do I take the chance on a different brand tuner?
