Heard a pop in my engine compartement as I was driving
I was driving on the freeway today, going 65 mph (2nd gen. auto. 2wd),. It was uphill (I was heading to Park City to a Job.). I heard a "pop" in the engine compartment... So I slowed down and pulled over and had a look,. I could not find a thing wrong. At first I thought it sounded like my serpentine belt broke (or a piece broke off)...but it is only about 6 weeks old. And then I thought maybe I blew the high pressure hose on my AC, but I checked and it is fine. So,..I finally got back on the road and finished my day ...being very paranoid the rest of the day. This has me so bothered,. I am pretty sure there were no cars close enough to me for me to mistake a pop in another car's engine...for my own. so...........where else do I look,..I know I was not imagining things. Does anybody have any ideas,..?What should I look for? My truck has 279K miles on it,. and has been a good truck for 20 years. This is the first time I have gotten paranoid about it...to the point of thinking maybe I should drive my 1st gen truck until I find out for sure what is up with it.....if anything.
I think I figured it out,..There is a duct (or conduit. or ?) from the turbo over to the intake. One end of a rubber fitting had slipped partially off (down where it is hard to see),..so I guess I had less pressure. But I don't drive fast so I didn't notice,. I guess.
