Hard to start after sitting
Hard to start after sitting
Ok.. I have poured thru threads on here and other forums and haven't been able to figure out my problem. If the truck sits for 8-10 hours, it takes about 10 seconds for it to start. I have already replaced the connector tube o-rings, and overflow valve thinking it might be a return side leak. I've parked the truck uphill and downhill with no change. I have also checked every fuel line for tightness and leaks. My fuel pressure is 13.5 psi at idle and 10 psi at WOT. The thing I've discovered is that I can plug in the block heater to not let the block cool down overnight and it'll start just fine in the morning or after it's been sitting. If I don't plug it in, it it takes the full 10 seconds to fire. And this is at ambient temps between 70 and 80 so the grid heaters don't even come into play. Once it starts that first time, it's fine and don't give me any trouble throughout the day until it sits for a few hours. This problem has been going on for about 3 months now and I've just lived with it but it's starting to get to me now. What could be going on and what can I look for?? The truck has 210k miles on it and the VP was replaced under warranty at 75k. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Batteries are only about a year and a half old. Haven't load tested them but the starter don't drag at all on start. I do plan on testing them though in the next couple of days tho. The only other thing is that the truck runs great like it always has and is still getting good fuel mileage.
Well I finally able to check the batteries ane one was bad. So I replaced them hoping that would fix the problem but it didn't. It's still doing the same thing.. Any more insight would be appreciated.
