Jeez I thought mine was bad but all I did was break the case in half. How did you do that?

on my way home after work, 100 km/h, 3 km west of Barrhead, 8:30pm thurs. heard thump, thump, BANG, pulled over to side of highway, truck died, hung head on steering wheel, got out of truck, colorful language ensued after seeing oil path leading to my truck. bad part of this was there was no indication anything was wrong.

What is the mileage on that transfer case and how many times has the fluid been changed? What brand of ATF were you using?

Looks like the chain let go. Was it making any noise? Did you have any leaks at the transfercase? Sure sorry about your bad luck!!

Wow! It looks like it blew through the cab floor. Glad nobody was hurt. My transfer case has always leaked a little. But you said there was an oil trail to your truck so it must've had something in it. It looks like the driveshaft yoke let go. Were you in 4 wheel drive? I think my front shaft turns freely when not engaged. That's weird. Good luck with the fix.
