Wink Got my truck back from the shop today. . . . .

I had a re-built VP44, the new style lift pump installed as well as Timbo's APPS today.

What a difference in the truck! I think the lift pump was going out or was out when I bought the truck almost a year ago. I never knew the truck had that much get up and go!

All said and done it was just over $1900.00. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

What year? Did they put an in-tank lift pump in instead of the engine-mounted Carter?
Most importantly, do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Congrats on the new truck feel, seat of the pants wise it is a powerful engine even stock.

You confuse me though with the new style lift pump, are you talking in tank LP, frame mount or block, or aftermarket FASS air dog Walbro etc... If in tank and you stay stock you should be OK but if you start putting boxes and injectors you should reconsider and upgrade to aftermarket LP's. Also a fuel pressure gauge is a must with these trucks.

Good luck and have fun

**edit**

Looks like PChouinard beat me to the LP questions. Dang, I thought I type fast too

I use the truck with a commercial shell on it for my business. It doesn't need all the stuff that some feel they need. 245 ponies in front of that 6 speed is all I need. I went for the stocker stuff so I could take advantage of the warranty from my mechanic.
