fuse box explaination needed

So my search skills are lacking. i need to know what the inline plug is in my fuse box. this is for the 99 dodge quad cab 2nd gen 24valve. i am having intermittent codes being through that point to the ECM, but i found the screw/plug for the inline loss. i tightened it and the codes went away, but now i am hesitant to take the truck far from home. Any explaination would be helpful.

thanks in advance!

Under the hood, or in the dash, driver's side?

under the hood. Looks like a big plug. I will get a picture and post shortly.
