My truck has 92,000mi,I bought It new,Iwas going to check valve clearance for the heck of It,does anybody know how to take off the plastic fuel pump cover before I break It and is it a waste of time to check them now or should I wait till a 150,000 mi.

Are you referring to the round plastic cover on the engine gear cover that hides the VP44 shaft nut? If so, it just unscrews, usually it's just hand tight. If it has a vent hose on it, remove the hose first.

Also, valve adjustment at this mileage probably isn't hurting your performance, but it never hurts to do it. I would if it was mine.
