Has anyone ever used one of the fluidampr on there truck ? If so whats the verdic can you really feel the difference in smoothness . My truck is stock but I would think smoothness has got to add life an reliability .
I've "heard" that you only really need it if you're spinning the motor higher than 3,000 rpm. Would it be worth it on a stock motor? I think it would be nice to have but not worth what they want for them...
They are pricey I've got a 53 block just thinking out loud anything reduceing the harmonic vibes might reduece metal fatigue don,t know . Klx650 sounds like Kawasaki dirt machine ? What kind of mileage are you getting with the mileage max . Have you had too build the trans yet mine is still hanging in there but I think i'm going with Goerend when i do it. Who's high idle kit did you get ? That would be handy with this 53,did you install it yourself ? Anyway thanks for the reply on the balancer have a great day .
I noticed a big difference with mine, but I put those on after a dual disc clutch. Being that you have an auto, it won't be nearly as apparent. But it won't hurt anything to have.
Everything I have heard, 53's crack because of thermal cycling, not harmonic vibrations. That being said, I wouldn't worry about cracking it anyway. The number that crack, while well publicized, are still relatively few.

Fluid Dampr was the last step in finishing my truck. With higher HP... say over 550 hp...I think it can help the engine last longer.
I did not notice a smoother idle that some claim.
If not going for big HP or sled pulling (4000 rpm), I don't see the need. My automatic CTD shifts, WOT at the track, between 3100 and 3300 in all gears.
Will it extend the life and reliability of my Cummins? I'll let you know in another 600,000 miles......... but it can't hurt.
Just many other things that make a real difference, that I would do first!

When I tabbed my KDP, I noticed the my stock damper was looking like it has seen better days. So I started thinking about replacing it and have heard about Fluid dampers before. When I inquired like you have, I pretty much got the it's good for high RPM's and if your engine is stock then don't bother. Since I was able to get it from Jegs at a good price I decided to go for it. After I installed it, I figured it would be one of those things that "They say it's better so it must be better" and you can't really tell if it made a difference. When I took it out for a ride it was like "WOW" what a difference it made. Even the wife was like whats wrong with your truck "it sounds different". The engine is so much smoother and even when lugging it in a tall gear I don't get drivetrain rattle like I used to. Overall it made my engine so smooth and quiet almost like a gasoline engine. For me buying the Fluidamper will be probably be the one and only thing that vastly beat out my expectations that I will ever buy. I am serious, I could not believe the difference. On my model year I had to relocate the tack sensor and they give you another mount and some extension cables, but I found if you cut a few tie wraps you can pull enough tach sonsor cable from the harness to make the run to the new location. If I were to buy a new truck today the first thing I would do is put a Fluid damper on it. For me that's the difference!
Travelingman -yea the klx is a kawasaki dirt bike. 650 with a 15 thou shaved head, port and polish, matched intake and exhaust, higher compression piston, and hotter cams. I race it mostly on the ice, super motard type of track, it is reasonably fast, at 80 mph it is still pulling hard. About 110 mph top speed. It is a very tractable motor, almost electric like, the more you twist the fast you go.
Regarding the mileage max, not too sure about the mileage increase, I do know it runs much nicer and smoother, little more power and I just drive it that much faster. I think there is a small increase if I keep my foot out of it. I have not had to do anything to the tranny yet, the PO rebuilt it and I stuck in the Transgo shift kit. Money very well spent doing that.
The high idle kit was done by myself, cost me $22.00 vs the 260.00 they wanted at the shop. If you want the info how I did it, pm me.
thanks.

Thanks for the input Guys anything that makes a machine run smoother has gotta be a good thing . I was mainly wanting to see what folks thought of the brand once they spent there money now I know . Gonna put it on my to do list .
FYI.... Here's a mini review that I wrote when I installed my Fluidampr. If you are putting it on a 24 Valve then it's just plug and play (No tach sensor to relocate).

Got the balancer on today an I like it anything off idle you can tell the difference . With the automatic i,m sure its not as noticeable as it would be with a stick . But it seems to me the cab is quieter at road spead an its smoother when accelerating . So I am happy with my purchase an I would doit again . AS a matter of fact I would take it off an put the old one back if I was saleing or tradeing the truck .
Glad to hear that you like it, I guessed with an automatic transmission that in itself might smooth things some with the fluid in the torque converter that your results might not be as dramatic as mine. When I put the new clutch my engine/drivetrain the noise in the cab increased. My guess is, the new disc has way heavier damper springs and created a more solid of a connection to conduct the noise and vibration into the transmission the sound then radiated from the shifter stick. Today, I drive around with a blanket wrapped around the shifter boot as I found that most of the drivetrain noise comes in the cab from there. The way I look at the whole Fluid damper thing is, vibration is not good for anything (wife disagrees) so reducing it should have a positive effect as far as longevity and of the entire drivetrain and engine.

it made a bid diff on mine but it was a 12 Valve. here is a befor and after 4K rev. not as noticeable on the vid as in real life. had just installed the 4K springs and HD valve springs so I was still a little timid about reving it that high. The stock balencer was about to come apart ( found that after a few 4K trips.) 2 days later the WG stuck shut as I made my way to just over 4K and I noticed the boost guage spike to right at 60psi and it sounded like a basket ball poped and the truck fell on its face. Sorry to get off topic.
