i think my injection pump took a crap...how can i diagnose that is my problem.. i am getting fuel to the filter but doesnt run.... sometimes will start and idle but thats it.. if i need an injection pump i plan on replacing the lift pump also... is there anything i should look out for when replacing the injection pump.. i am a mechanic but never fooled with diesels much.. any help would be great.. thanks

 

Start with testing , check for codes , fuel pressures ?
Tell why you think something , like you think IP is bad , do not think , test , its cheaper to find one wrong part , than put many in .
I thought I saw a post , that gave a trouble shooting list for the VP pump , try a search , I save stuff like that , but I have a P-pump so , I do not have a link for it .
Keep us posted , for more help to you , or someone in the same boat .
