Felt a serge..saw check engine light...have P1689

**** it.....

Leaving work yesterday I was going easy in thrid gear and I felt a little serge/jump, its hard to explain(looking back I think it was dead pedal). My check engine light came on right away so I went by autozone to see what it was. Came up with code P1689, nothing else. According to the scanner this is either a failed IP module or an open or short curcuit condition.
Driving the truck last night I got dead pedal twice, but other than that it starts and runs fine. This morning it started up fine with NO check engine light. After making one stop on the way to work I had a check engine light again and dead pedal a couple times. Same thing on the way home, no light at first, after a couple mile got dead pedal along with the light.
So I am going to go check all the connections and wires while crossing my fingers... if the problem keeps up I will try to waranty the pump out on Monday. I put this pump on about 8 months ago and just tapped the pump wire for the TST about a month ago. Im pretty sure that caused the problem.

Any other ideas?

Update

I checked the connections and unplugged my VA box on thursday. Since then I have not had a check engine light or dead pedal. I am thinking either the connection was just loose or the VA box has gone bad. I am going to plug it back in tomorrow and see what happens.

P1689 No Communication Between ECM and Injection Pump Module.
Data link circuit failure between ECM and fuel injection
pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.

Check your Data Link connection too...the Edge Comp uses this connection along with the MAP sensor and the pump wire too, I don't know how many TST uses.
