Engine at an angle after accident (?)
Engine at an angle after accident (?)
I have a 2002 3500 dually. Today we were involved in an accident. Long story short on the accident: We are cruising down the road, guy pulls in front of us, we smash the Edit out of his car, he splits. Sucks to be us.
So, the front of the truck now has a nice 'V' shape to it. I'm certain the radiator and various other parts behind and near the bumper are trashed. My main concern, however, is what appears to be a rather large 'angle' to the engine. By angle, I mean, the front of the engine is higher then the rear, when viewed from the side.
I'm no mechanic, and I don't open the hood all that often, but I don't recall any angle to the engine. I'm I screwed?
Thank you for your time and assistance and I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.

I think the engine has a slight angle to the rear, I believe, but not a lot. Take a look underneath the truck, check the tranny crossmember, and the bellhousing (if manual) and engine adapter. The latter two are aluminum, so they could've cracked. FWIW, my 12v in the engine stand is quite front heavy, so something has to be pulling it down in the back, it shouldn't do it on its own.
