Engaging the Overloads

Does anyone know what how much weight in the bed it takes to engage the overload springs? I am trying to determine the weight of an old horse trailer I am in the process of rebuilding. I am not able to take it to the scales for a while. When the gooseneck trailer is hooked up, I am about 1/2" from engaging the overloads on my 2500.

Before the lift, and with the overloads, I had load of sack crete in the bed. (It's been several years ago, and I would feel bad about trying to remember how much weight). Anyways, I was close to engaging them from a stop.

On the way home, encountered some rough road, and man those things kicked in and out and I almost lost teeth!

My truck gets on the overloads at about 1700 in the bed.
