E-brake adjustment, discs
My e-brake adjustment is super touchy. I did a complete rear brake job, rotors, pads, calipers, shoes, last April and am having an issue getting the e-brake shoes adjusted.
Going thru the normal procedure of elevating the rear and spinning the tires until a slight drag is felt and then backing off on tooth will not hold the truck on my driveway. The pedal is floored and the truck still creeps down hill. Its about a %5 grade.
If I tighten them to just dragging, it will hold, but are dragging under normal driving. This however gives the pedal the correct feel and will hold the truck on my driveway.
I don't feel a new cable is needed, but can't come up with any other solutions to get them correctly set?
Ideas/answers??

They were exactly the same as the old ones I took out, which weren't really worn just cooked from a bad caliper.
The starwheels seem pretty touchy, and I know it doesn't take much, just odd I have to bury the pedal and it still won't hold. 1/8th of a turn is all I backed them off. We will see if they don't rub this afternoon.
I was just wondering if any brake guys know something I am fouling up!!

Well figured it out and got 'em done.
I had the drivers side turned down all the way and only the passenger was holding. After adjusting them correctly, per the FSM, I now have a nicely adjusted and holding parking brake!
tried to shortcut it and spent three times as long gettin it right, you'd a thought I would have that figured out by now!!
