Driver side axel u joint
I have a 99 dodge 2500 cummins and the driver side u joint is shot i was wondering if any of you guys performed this procedure. i was told ithat need to take the pinion out to take the axel out and what is the best way to get the caps out

No You don't, just caliper, rotor and hub bearing. Axle will pull out easy once that is done. Be careful if you have ABS brakes that you remove sensor before pulling axle shaft out.
