Drive train fluids?
Getting ready to dump the whole drive train system of the stock fluids. What should I replace them with?

Tranny
T-Case
front and rear diff's

Synthetic or not to Synthetic? That is the question. ???
Re:Drive train fluids?

When i get the new transnission, Then i will do it

Re:Drive train fluids?
Synthetic, of course, if you like the truck and plan on keeping it a while.
I use Amsoil and have it in the engine, auto tranny, transfer case, and rears. I'd put it in my 5 or 6 speed if I had one. I DO have it in the 5 speed in my 86 BMW, and engine and rear, with 306K on it. ;D
No smoke and I drive it like I stole it every time I het in.

Re:Drive train fluids?
I've got an '02 3500 4x4. I use Redline MTL in the NV5600 6 speed, and Redline High Temp ATF in the transfer case, and Redline 85w-140 in the diffs. All are synthetic. I'm very happy with all, some real improvements in shifting, noise, heat during towing, and on the temp gauges.

I have a letter from Redline stating that MTL exceeds the DC MS 9224 specifications for the transmission, and giving specific reasons why. (Don't mean to start another NV5600 lube "discussion".)

ascraeus
