Cold weather=no start---HELP
Cold weather=no start---HELP
Drove my truck to work today with temps at -8. Came home and no problems. Went out at about 8 pm and started truck to go and fill with fuel. Pulled out of garage and truck died. No fuel pressure on gage. Changed fuel filter and checked that fuel was pumping. I am getting fuel at the filter bowl, but still no pressure at VP. Gage is mounted at fuel inlet on IP. What am I missing? Outside temps are -16 right now and wind chill is brutal. Where else can I look for a fix?
Thanks

Was it gelling up? was the filter slushy? If you know you got a good lift pump and no codes i would start dumping Power service additive in. Where did u last get fuel main station or off the beating path
Fuel was flowing good. Not slushy or gelled. Pump was pushing into the bowl nice, but doesn't seem to be getting to the IP. I did pour some Power service into the bowl. Right now it is plugged in and I will see what happens in the morning.
I think I may have found the culprit. There seems to be a fuel leak between the filter housing and the VP. I believe I am loosing pressure. I went out this am and crack a couple if line and waited till I saw fuel. Finally got it fired and went to off with fresh fuel and some treatment. Pulled into the garage and a couple of hours later there were some spots under the truck. Then to top it all off I went and got another winter beater today, cuz my other beater was beat to death. Came home and my TV was out too. Great couple of days. Oh well at least it's getting warmer. # degrees above zero right now
