On my brothers 2001 he has two codes coming up. They are P-0500 and p1693. Cansomebody tell me what these codes are. and the tack on truck only works when you first start it up then it quits working. Any ideas would be a great help thanks Dieseldemon

 

Are those extracted with a scanner?

P0500 generally mean the rear wheels have been spun. You can reset it with a scanner or it should just go away after a certain number of key cycles.

If it doesnt, it could be a problem with the VSS sensor on the rear differential.

The P0500 code is no vehicle speed sensor signal and this code may cause the dashboard indicator light to illuminate. The P1693 code is DTC Detected in Companion JTEC Mod.
