Why does'nt the odometer give me the codes when I cycle the key. I know there is codes there because my check light came on. After 10 or so start ups it cleared and is not on now. I have a edge comp box and the little resistor about 2 inches from the plugin, well the wire broke off, so I bypassed the resistor. Will this hurt anything? Still works and runs great.

 

Key trick only works on 2k and newer trucks, so you'll need a reader to access your codes.

 

The key on/off does not always give all the codes !!

 

yep run down to you local auto parts store and have them scan it for you(advance auto or autozone) theyll scan it for you.

i thought the key trick only worked on 01s and up.
