cleaning radiator
01 truck blew a hg. changed out everything cleaned the radiator out the best i could with a hose . put all new fluids in and theres still the oil/ antifreeze mix in the rad. went and had it flushed but its still there. it does get better evry flush and the motor oil is antfreeze free. any ideas how long it will take to completly remove this gunk? any better ways of doing it? thanks
Just had to flush a bunch of equipment at work due to a bad batch of antifreeze. I ran thru a bunch of industrial degreaser and then flushed with Calgon dishwasher detergent. Worked pretty good.
Drain, fill with water and Calgon, run untill at norm operating temp and the t-stat opens, drain, repeat if needed, fill with fresh A/F.
If you don't run the engine you're only doing a 1/4 of the job.

Now your lubed, inside, outside and in between! Try the dishwasher soap, I low pressure washed my engine bay and underside w/ it and then cleaned my driveway and garage door. It's my new cheap all purpose cleaner!
use one bottle of lestoil fill rad with that and water run till operating temp and keep doing this till water coming out the rad looks clean. this is wut i use when engines puke the oil cooler and fill the cooling system with crankcase oil.
