checking lift pump pressure

With all the talk of lift pump failures I would like to know what the proper procedure is for checking and the spec. limits. Also from what I have read this seems to be a problem limited to the newer electric pumps. If so are any tech.bulletin or recalls out.I have been a Caterpillar heavy equip.mechanic for 25 years and would find it hard to believe that Cummins has not addressed the problem.Caterpillar is very good about this type of thing.
