Changing Power Steering Fluid

My powersteering groans terrible on cold mornings and if i try and drive it if it hasnt warmed up for 5 or 10 minutes, it will shoot the fluid out. has anyone else had this problem? now I got some valvoline synthetic blend im gonna put in it now, so what is the best way to get all of the old stuff out? will sucking out the reservor be enough, or is there a better way to get all of it out and would i need to get it all out?

Synthetic Dexron III/Mercon ATF is the best power steering fluid IMHO. I would think that you could take the return line off the pump and drain it that way. Maybe crank the engine over without starting it, and add new fluid to flush the old out.

How cold? I don't have too much experience in the cold but I do know that disolved water will boil in a brake line. Will it freeze in power steering fluid? just a left field guess. I went into an interstate median with no brakes (including parking brake) as a result of overheated motor/ bad brake fluid... BTW, the parking brake was rigged IAW specs...
