Never mind, I figured it out.

After all, it is a mechanically driven pump and it is only the modifications to basic timing that are done electrically.

Ahh crud I just jumped on here too write the very same thing and so did not want too hear this My trucks doing the same thing on the way home from Burns today it started Friday on the way down it would stumble and then be fine and it would not do it all the time sporadic at best some times you feel like its going too die but it wont. No codes good fuel pressure 13psi ideling no less that 8-9psi at load on the road looks like I will be in the market for a new pump I wonderd how long I was going too last from running the truck with no pressure since I bought it till I put the gauge on it

Had the same issues and the VP died, with codes. Glad to hear once I have the cash for a rebuilt one I should be running again.

I am starting too wonder about mine if its just a plugged filter. I ran the dog crap out of it coming home tonight and when it stutters none of the gauges go wako and I can't for the life of me and fear of running out of road get the fuel psi too drop below 9psi on it hard. When it skips the rpm dont go back to idel like a bad aps would it don't spin like a slippening clutch as its a brand new clutch and the fuel psi is rock solid never has changed from the norm

Does your fuel pressure gauge read from after the filter? If so, your getting plenty of fuel. Usually a plugged filter will show up worse at high load and less at or near idle.

Does yours stutter at idle? If so, it's got nothing to do with fuel delivery to the IP.
