Breather Bottle

Can the crankcase breather bottle be replaced with one that does not have the holes in the side?
Or is there anything that can be done so that the oil does not spray out and coat the front lower half of the motor?
Re:Breather Bottle

Extend the hose & move the bottle down between frame and left side inner fender. You need the holes or no bottle at all.
Danny

Re:Breather Bottle

Get 2 feet or 3/4" radiator hose, and a barbed connector. Remove the bottle and insert the hose so it ends below the torsion bar. Use the bottle tie wrap to secure the hose against the front of the engine. That'll keep the oil off the front of the engine.

Wheezer-
Thats what I did. Extended the hose down and zip tied it down by the track bar. Mine doesn't leave any spots on the driveway either.

3/4" "radiator" hose??? How about heater hose? LOL.

I did the same thing. Run it back, zip tied it (no bottle) and, voila! No oil on the engine. No oil on the bottom of the truck. And no oil on the floor. Why couldn't Cummins or Dodge have done it already? ??? I remember when all the cars and trucks (little & big) had breather tubes that exhausted below the oil pan.

Just my 2 cents. Stan

LOL :

You might find an occasional drip in the "floor", but it's nothing to get worked up about. What worked me up was to find the front of my 3 month old engine covered with a dirty oily residue. Wonder who thought that location up. ???
