batterys

who has the best, biggest batterys

my carquest group 8 are junk, pain $200 for them 2.7 year ago, truck don't act like it going to start because of the slow roll over and the check guage light is on when the heating grids are on. Carqueast will only give me $37 a piece for these old ones. When I went in there I told them I wanted the biggest battery possible. The only really worked good for 6 months. Very unhappy with them.

I have the autozone ones (duralast gold I think is the name) that cost about $200. 3 year free replacement. Was cranking slow so I had them tested and they replaced both of them. They were 2yrs old no questions asked.

Bought some from the zone $171 out the door. 3 yr free replacement. 7 yr pro-rated. Didn't pay the $3 for the felt crap the guy wanted to sell me to supposedly keep my posts clean. I read on another forum from a guy that managed a battery plant that anything 1000 CCA or more uses thinner plates which are more failure prone. Also, check your charging system.

I think Wally world has good ones too, as well as Interstate. Wally World is everywhere, but I guess Autozone is too.

I had to put batteries in the truck a couple years ago. I did some shopping around and ended up getting the best price from Mopar. I paid $65 a piece for them. i forgot what the warranty was but they've been in about 3 yrs now and still work great in the cold weather.

Did you get your Mopar batteries at the local Dodge Dealer?
The OEM's on mine, after they were replaced under warranty in 2003 are still running strong and they are sealed. I have had to deal with some termial corrosion, but that is with all my batterries, sealed or not.

Supr, Yeah I got mine at my local dealer. I've had minimal corrosion on mine, they haven't been too bad. My original set had alot though.

I just replaced my first set of Duralast. 1 was bad the other still good after 4 years. They gave me a good deal on 2 new ones. Seem ok now. I have bought 5 batteries from AZ in the last year and 3 of them have gone bad in 6 mo. They do have a good replacement warantee however. Won't help out in the boonies however.

I personally am a fan of AGM style batterys. I currently have Optimas in every vehicle I own and have had for several years. I have yet to have one fail (even in my drag car), Also, they can't leak.

I put the big Exhide Workahaulics in mine. I think they are the 31mp series. They fit but didnt fit. They was bout quarter inch to long. So I took trays out and cut one end out with some tin snips and made some new hold downs cause my others was eat up. I think I bought em for $160. Been good for 3 years now. Got the grid heater unplugged too.
