Battery cables
Battery cables
The battery cable clamps on my '02 have corroded enough over the years where the nuts are now an adventure when it comes time to remove to clean the posts and such. With the amps these things draw I'm reluctant to just buy the new clamps as I've had trouble with them in the past in normal gas engine applications. I'm sure others have had to replace the cables. Is it best to just choke down the cost of new cables from the dealer or are there other alternatives such as welding cable or aftermarket sources that are a viable solution? Thanks in advance for your replys.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
There are some heavy duty terminals made for audio system upgrades.
The NAPA or a HD truck application at a speciality electrical (alt/starter) shop is good. Use the crimp type, not solder. And don't use the 98 cent junk with a clamp on end.

Go to napa tell them what you want talk to the guy he will show you what cables they have. Tell them what its for. If possible bring in your cables and they will make the exact same ones. I had mine made with 00 guage and crimp on connectors and the nice terminal leads. I also had them heat shrink the ends to seal them up. It cost me 55 dollars to have it all done. I am very please with them. Hope that helps
