Batteries

Is there any advantage of going to group 31 batteries over the stock group 27? I can buy group 31 925cca batteries for $75 each from Kenworth. Also will the stock alt. handle th larger batteries? Thanks in advance for any input. This is on a '02.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Not much of a advantage, although may be some increase in cold cranking ability. Doubt could tell. For me the Wally world MAXX with ease of warranty and direct fit. Some mod of case is required on 31's. The maxx gives you extra terminals that come in handy for accessories. JMHO of course.

I just bought 875 CCA batteries. They are interstates and are bigger than stock. They don't allow you to use the stock battery hold downs but boy does the truck turn over faster than heck on a 20 degree day.
