Ball Joints

Well fellas was sittin in the shop the other day enjoying a cold one and noticed some excessive wear on the inside of my drivers side tire.jacked her up and put a bar under the tire and she wiggles around, ball joint, bottom one is all shinny and lose.now my question is why does my rig eat up ball joints, changing these two will be the 5th set on this side,4th set on the passenger side.these jooints were replaced last year.it seams that every year im replacing ball joints.they are moog joints so the only cost i should have is a press, since she eats them up so bad im going to buy the tools.thanks for any help fellas, now going back to enjoy another cold one.

wow! Thought the 02's might be a bit better than earlier yrs, since I've had no problems. Guess not!
I've been lucky.... sitll running factory originals at 170,000 miles and only starting to loosen up.
Probably not what you want to hear! Sorry

Good Luck.... RJ

How's your wheel bearing? Mine were disintegrated by 200K miles. Sure would make the ball joints feel sloppy, too....

What brand of balljoints are you using? I'd be using Moog or Spicer. I would also check the caster, camber, and make sure the bushings are good in the controll arms. I've go 65k on mine, I just had to replace everything on the front end.

Look into XRF ball joints. I returned my MOOG after hearing their quality has dropped.
