Ball Joint Press question...
Ball Joint Press question...
Alright I've been searching for the past few days now trying to find a write-up I am quite positive I read a few weeks ago... no it's not the one hosted on pavementsucks...
basically I'm trying to figure out which combination of adapters i need to use to press out the ball joints on my '02 2500 4x4....... I just can't seem to get any kind of combination that seats correctly and the ones that kinda-sorta seat I'm worried will explode when i get it under enough pressure.
I bought the harbor freight press kit and the adapter kit to go along with it, and I am still having trouble...... am I just not getting the right combo? I know a lot of you guys are using the same kit so I'm hoping someone can tell me the exact adapters that need to be used so I can stop guessing.

do you happen to remember the #'s of the adapters you used? with the extra kit the numbers start at 1 in the upper left hand corner and end at 14 in the lower right... I've tried flipping certain ones around, using ones that are too small and only fit the shaft of the balljoint, etc, I just can't seem to find a good combination. I'm starting to think I either A) got a bad kit from HF, or B) something is funky about my truck

...
, crap...I'm just trying to be productive in the meantime while I wait until I can get my tanks filled... the only heat I have at the moment is a oxy/mapp setup and that's just not hot enough I'm afraid.
