For the past little while every so often I have been apparently having issues with my APPS sensor.

I find it happens most after long periods of using the cruise control and then idle along, say approaching a construction zonje or something. Suddenly truck cuts to an idle, pedal goes dead, chime dings and check engine light comes on. After hooking up my scanner you will find a throttle position code. Sometimes this happens even when still using the cruise, sucks the pedal to the floor while truck is still idling, then all of a sudden it hits full power again.

I have tried the reset procedure, anything else I can do besides replace the sensor?

 

Replacement was the only way I could fix mine.

 

Try the 3 key cycle method to reset the apps.
Leave in gear no clutch.
turn key to start
advance the throttle slowly and slowly release the throttle
turn the key to off for a few seconds
Repeat this 3 times and then
leave the key off for about 2 minutes
then start as normal
Mine looses the reset about every 5 weeks and has to be reset.
I have a bad voltage problem although. DAM JUNK>
