Anyone here replace their fanblade?

I have a crack in one of the blades of my fanblade. I've already purchased a new one and just need to install it now. Anyone have any recommendations/advice? I already saw the thread on the size socket needed. I'm mainly wondering how long it took and what you did to prevent the fan from rotating.

Thanks!

The best way to get it off is with an air chisel. It just zaps right off. That nut can be a bear to take off...

I had to change mine out off the truck as the support bearing disintegrated! I could not figure it out so I took it to the Cummins shop when I picked up the new bearing. The guys at the Cummins shop place a large pair of vise grips on the pully and the wrench on the nut and twisted it right off! Made it look real easy! Not much markings of the pully either.

Remember that it's reverse thread (on my 12v it is at least). A large monkey wrench on the pulley might do it.
