actual miles

Hello All,

I am looking to buy a 1999 Ram 2500. The dash is not working and my question is how can I verify the milage. Are the actual miles stored in any of the electronics?

Thanks Uno

Milage

From what I can see in the service manual the milage seems to be stored in the PCM so it should be able to be veiwed when the instrument unit is replaced or repaired. The rear axel has a rear wheel sensor mounted to the rear axel and that sends a signal to the CAB/Controller Antilock Brake and is then sent to the Powertrain control module. Tire size is important for accurate milage input.

This sounds like a good one to avoid. You know...If it's "too good to be true...."
