Just installed new LP and bigger fuel lines and new FF. Started up fine. The next morning started up and ran for about 5 seconds and died....Started up after engine turned over about 20 times and ran great. Starts up all day until truck sets for a couple of hours and then starts dies and starts hard again. Not throwing any codes. Truck has 146,000 miles on it and this is the first time this has happened. New LP is showing about 14 to 16 psi @ idle and about 10 to 12 running down the road. Runs great, great mileage, runs and idles smooth, just hard to start when setting for a couple of hours or overnight. No visible leaks....?????? Any ideas?

 

I think you have a leak that lets some air in- seems to be on the suction side of the lift pump. A leak there won't leak out fuel. What happens is that you get diesel to fire the engine up and then air gets pushed in- it will then take some time to get it started again.

OK. I will check all of the connections again and make sure they are tight.
