I've got a 2001 with a 53. I don't care ......... if it cracks, it cracks. it's been the best truck I've ever had. I'll take care of the problem if/when it happens.

 

I got a 53 and I still got warrenty for two years. I bought the truck used with 51,000 miles on it and Mopar sold me a 3 year 36,000 for the truck. I plan on BOMBING in moderation so if it does crack I can remove the evidence

 

Mine also has the 53 block. I called the guy who owned it before me. He told me it was on a 5th wheel trailer about every day of its life, with a programer. and had not given him a lick of trouble. Me on the other hand, not so lucky. But it still hasn't cracked at 148k.
