47re sources??
anyone have experience with replacement
47re from autozone, advance auto part, rock auto? I'm in need of a replacement. not a rebuild kit..the case is cracked.. thanks -Dave |
Dave, you are going to lose the core money anyway with a cracked case.
Where are you from? I do know of one fellow who has stuck 3 rebuilds from AutoZone in already, he isn't terribly impressed to say the least. It shouldn't be too hard to find a core trans, the RE was built long enough, the V10 is the same as well. |
I was figuring I might loose the core unless I can find a cheap broken one.
maybe I'll stay away from autozone.. I'm near RTP, NC.. -Dave photo http://www.davesthisnthat.com/photos/47re.jpg is this just the over drive unit? can this be replaced separatly? sources? |
Yep, OD unit, opens up a WHOLE 'nother ballgame. The housing is the same for umpteen years, all 42/46/47 RE units, you can have a trans guy rebuild your guts and drop it in a new case.
Fleabay is loaded with cases if you don't have a good yard close by who will part one out. PS any idea why she cracked? |

He may very well have just a core or be able to find you one. I will P.M. his phone number to you. ----------- John_P |
