Re:3 cyl cold weather idle

Seeing as how its -10 degrees I'm gonna see about getting this done. Always nervous about getting those reflashes...

Re:3 cyl cold weather idle

Mine sat (not plugged in) in -30 the other day for about seven hours and when I started it up the 3cyl thing kicked in the first time since I had it. It took about a minute after idleing at 1200, then I thought the engine blew up sounded like a friggin jack hammer, but it must've worked since it only took about five minutes for the defroster to start spewing warm air I decide it was enough sittin there and freezing my but off, so put her in gear and (gently) drove away. Took about anouther five minutes of driving (down town stop & go) to be completly warmed up.

Re:3 cyl cold weather idle

I had mine set last fall, but I plug it in at nite so it hasnt come on yet.. Ive been meaning to not plug it in to see if it is really programmed..

Is the 3 cylinder operation louder than the normal idle?? Just wondering, since my neighbor calls my truck his "alarm clock" already.. hehe

Re:3 cyl cold weather idle

My 2003 has done that since I bought it. Does that mean it's already enabled. ???
