235 vs 245 Engine

What are the major differences between the 235 and 245 engines? I have a 245 with everything on it that the rod bearings are bad in. I also have a 235 that has no accessories. Will all the accessories from the 245 work on the 235 engine and it still run correctly? I'm talking about the fuel pump, turbo, ECM, etc? Basically all of that has been stripped off the 235. Any suggestions or has anyone interchanged parts from the different motors? I know there is a compression difference but wasn't sure what other differences there were.

VP 44 is different and can't be made to make as much power and SO pump.

ECM's are probably a little different too.

I'd repost in 2nd gen performance and accessories for a better view...

dieseldemon - What parts did you swap when you did this? What year models were they? Did you leave the 235 in the vehicle when you were done or the 245?

These trucks can be modded to make a lot more power. That being said, the VP44 & LP are weak lins, even under the best of circumstances. What do you plan to do with the truck? If it is just hauling stuff & daily driver, I would stay stock or only lite mods. You can spend a lot of $ on these trucks and at the end of the day you have an 11+ yr old truck worth ?
Fix it up to run well and just use it, unless you eally have $ to burn.
