2002 Dodge

We just bought a 2002 Dodge 2500 4x4 24V H.O. 6 speed Black, 63,000 original miles STOCK

??? for you 24V guys. What is the fuel pressure suppose to be at idle?
We have to get a gauge of course. Also how often to you have to clean the puke bottle?Do you have to have the puke bottle or can you run a blow-by tube and where do you check the fuel pressure on it at?How does the Edge Comp do with the H.O. pumps? Is it a good box or are there others better suited for the H.O. pump?Sorry for all the ??? need to know more about the 24V.

Thanks in advance,Cin

i think 15psi @idle for a a fresh lp, it goes down with age.

i never had a puke bottle so i dont know.

yes you can run a blow by tube.

i think you check the fuel psi behind the filter canister, where the lp fuel line connects to the filter housing.

dont know about the edge, but i know that HO's respond better to stixs than fueling boxs.

hope this helps.

I have an 02 HO as well....there should be a schraeder valve in your injection pump inlet, thats where you check your fuel pressure on an 02. From what I've been told, the HO pumps believe it or not, don't flow as much fuel as the SO (235hp) pumps. I know that when mine finally goes, Im gonna put an SO pump on it. I think they say that generally, 150hp injectors are the biggest you can run with an HO pump. As for fuel pressure, I don't think you wanna be any lower than 5-8psi at wide open throttle, but you might wanna get a second opinion on that one. I havn't had my truck long enough to have to do my first oil change on it, but my buddy has an 01 and he emptys his puke bottle every oil change. You can lose the bottle if you want, but I'd do something about extending the breather hose then. After a while, even with the bottle on the end of it, you'll wind up with a nasty film of oil on your radiator and it can hurt your its cooling ability. then you have to pull it out and wash it off good.

The HO pump does flow less fuel for all out HP, not to worry usless you're trying to get over 500hp.

The HO's have more compression as well. They tend to pop a headgasket easier with elevated boost levels and timing.

I would also suggest looking a TST or other fueling boxes. Bet you're wishing you didn't sell your TST now?

when you run a blow by tube/hose. dont use heater hose, the oil will make it unusable in a year.
i used an oil & heat resistant hose after changing the heater type hose twice..... the hose i ended up using cost more, but i'll never have to change it again

MikeD, I just didn't think he would go back to the 24V Again. LOL. No big issue about selling the TST.He only used it like 3 times. No we don't want that much HP.It's gonna be his Everyday driver.I don't want him to have as much HP as I do.hehehee

Johnh, Thank you!Cin

along with what MikeD mentioned, the HO's also have different injectors(less flow rate but presumably higher injection pressure) and usually demonstrate better gains with injector swaps then a comparably equipped SO.

-Fuel pressure = 15psi @ idle, 12 @ cruise, 8-10 @ WOT.

-I have a mod for the puke bottle. http://new.photos.yahoo.com/buckshot...60762313285346

-I would recommend the Smarty over the Edge.

Anything thing else, feel free to ask.
