How many speed sensors do I have externally? Where are they? What do they look like, and whats the best way to clean them? Im going over all my external stuff tommorrow to try and diagnose my OD hunting problem before I go internal. Thank you to all replys

One in the tranny, where the speedo cable would normally be. I am told this one does nothing really, except tell the computer to pay attention to the VSS in the rear end. The other is in the rear end, of course, mounted on the top. I dunno about cleaning them.
Is your speedo working? If so, it shouldn't be the VSS. I heard of others having problems with OD and TC lockup it it turned out to be the TPS flaking out. I dunno if that will be your problem though.

My speedo seems to be working correctly. The truck just starts hunting for OD when it should have no problem clicking in. Thank you for your reply.

It' all set now, did the APPS, and cleaned all external speed sensors. Truck is currently running excellent.
