Question Is it worth it!!!!?????????

I had planned on changing out my TC this summer. But all the talk lately on changing over to a lock up tc tanny has got me thinking.

So the question is:

Is it worth the trouble of changing everything for the new lockup tranny to fit?!

That really depends on your goals and your wallet. A good converter for your present tranny combined with a shift kit will make it seem like a new truck and there are lots of folks out there running a similar setup that will agree. Given what's available, I think the expense of converting to a l/u tranny just isn't worth it.

It depends, what are you going to do with the truck? How long are you going to keep it? It really isn't that much trouble IMO. Good lockup converters tend to be expensive though, but there's nothing like towing with a converter locked.
I found one cheap out of a wrecked 95, $900 for everthing from the back of the block back to the T-case.

If you've read the other threads you know what parts are need and what has to be modified.

did you read that post of the new suncoast non lockup tranny costing over 4K$$$? I think a lockup would be even more $$$ why do that when for less than 2k you can put a getrag in there with a brand new sachs 13" clutch
